Conflicker/Downadup Virus - Potential Threat. Time. You might have heard about a potential computer virus outbreak due tomorrow - April Fool's Day?

Be aware of- I-Worm/Nuwar Virus (From AVG Web Site)
Propagation method of new Nuwar variant is still similar to its precedessors. Spammed mails with link in IP format directs users to the worm web pages where the users are prompted to download one of the worm files with the name funny.exe. Names of other downloadable files are kickme.exe and foolsday.exe. AVG detects this threat as I-Worm/Nuwar.R.

If you've kept your systems up to date with the latest Micrsoft Windows Updates and have good antivirus protection, this should be a non-event.

If not, here are some immediate recommendations:
1. From Windows run Windows Update.
2. Get your antivirus definitions updated and run a full system scan.
3 Get AVG if you don't have good antivirus protection, and run a full system scan.

Internet Explorer 8 They're saying this is a must have browser. I have done some initial testing it IE8 seems to be rock solid. I have had one of my clients say there were some incompatibilities when visiting a particular site and had to uninstall it and reinstall Internet Explorer 7. You be the judge.
